ÄDELBROOK BEHAVIORAL CONSULTATION SERVICES

Providing Clinical guidance, professional development, family support, and consultation for individuals with Autism Spectrum disorder. Ädelbrook Behavioral Consultation (ÄBC) Services offers cost saving alternatives to residential placement and out of district special education costs. ÄBC provides a range of services that can be customized to families and individuals as well as schools and other service providers.

In-Home Support Services

As a qualified provider by the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and under the Medicaid HUSKY waiver for Autism Specialists, we offer in-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to meet the needs of people with developmental/intellectual disabilities, autism and other significant behavioral issues. Ädelbrook Behavioral Consultation (ÄBC) Services is designed to assist family members and caregivers in keeping their loved ones at home or in small community based settings close to family. Comprehensive, customized care plans are developed to meet the individual’s needs in developing communication, social and daily living skills. Our staff work with the family to customize a service plan for each individual case utilizing our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) and in-home or community support counselors. We work closely with each individual’s existing service providers to identify the complexity of diagnostic concerns and design and implement a total care plan for the individual and their family that ensures continuity of care across all settings.

Depending on the individuals’s needs, we offer a range of staffing from before- and after-school and weekend support, to full 24-hour care. This focused attention and continuity in behavioral treatment allows young people with significant challenges to remain at home. Family education occurs naturally as trained staff assist and guide family members in managing target behaviors.

School Based Consultation

ÄBC provides consultation to school districts to help avoid the costly outplacement of complex and challenging students. Our staff are able to help in the development and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives, as well as guide collaboration with other service providers to enhance learning and skill building. Dedicated behavior analysts are able to work directly with teachers and help prepare and present data and reports at PPT meetings.

Professional Development/Mentoring

We are able to offer customized professional development trainings within the schools or other service provider agencies. Our specializations are behavioral principles, intervention, classroom and program management and other foundational topics. On staff BCBAs are able to provide mentoring in adhering to best practice and evidence based guidelines for behavioral interventions.
