Ädelbrook’s CCSU & UHart Partnership

Ädelbrook partners with Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) and the University of Hartford (UHart) to create career pathways in Special Education for our employees. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Special Education Teacher Prep Program: Eligible employees can enroll in this program, gaining access to mentorship and a generous scholarship to support their growth.
  • Tuition Assistance: Ädelbrook covers up to 50% of tuition costs, making it easier to pursue your degree while working.
  • Learning While You Teach: Employees can participate as DSAP candidates, earning a $60,000 salary once their DSAP is approved by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE).
  • Professional Endorsement: Upon completing the program, participants are eligible for endorsement as a Certified Special Education Teacher (165) in Connecticut.
  • Career Advancement: This partnership supports employees in advancing their education and career while continuing to make an impact at Ädelbrook.

Ädelbrook Summer Apprenticeship Program

This 8-week, paid summer opportunity is designed for college students to gain valuable experience. Here's what you can expect:

  • Hands-On Experience: Work as a 1:1 Instructional Support Counselor at our learning centers
  • Ideal for Students in Various Programs: Human Services, Special Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language, or Behavioral Sciences.
  • Specialization: Gain valuable insight into working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual mad developmental disabilities.
  • Diverse Program: Learn about our comprehensive continuum of care, including extended day school, residential living, consultation, and more. 
  • Career Opportunities: Upon completion of the program, participants may have the possibility to join Ädelbrook’s team as a per diem or full-time employee with benefits.

Ädelbrook, Inc. Clinical Internship Program

Our internship program provides students with the opportunity to complete academic internship requirements while gaining valuable professional experience. Here's what you can expect:

  • Academic Alignment: Internship tasks and responsibilities follow the requirements set by your college or university.
  • Educational Partnership: Ädelbrook partners with colleges and universities to support fieldwork and meet requirements related to coursework. 
  • Educational Contract: Duties are outlined in an agreement developed jointly by the Clinical Intern and Ädelbrook Field Instructor, then submitted to your school. 
  • Varied Experiences: Responsibilities and expectations are flexible depending on internship type and education level.
  • Professional Development: Gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while preparing for a career in the field.

Ädelbrook’s Training Academy

At Adelbrook, we are committed to setting every new team member up for success. Our Training Academy provides a comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development that ensures staff are fully prepared to support the individuals we serve. Here’s what you can expect:

  • New hire orientation and regulatory training covering requirements set by Connecticut DCF and the Council on Accreditation (COA)
  • Core training topics including mandated reporting, HIPAA, CPR, First Aid, Basic Health, and Dysphagia
  • Specialized instruction in Trauma-Informed Care, Autism and Developmental Delays, behavioral services, assistive technology, communication, and occupational therapy strategies
  • Physical and Psychological Management (PMT) training to ensure staff can respond to crisis situations with therapeutic, safety-focused approaches
  • Ongoing opportunities for professional growth and skill development through refresher courses and advanced trainings
