Treats in the Streets

Ädelbooks & More | 292 Main St, Middletown, CT
Celebrate fall, stories and community at Treats in the Streets, a family-friendly day of local authors, book signings, story readings, seasonal treats and inclusive fun in downtown Middletown.
Hosted by Ädelbrook and Nutmeg Lit Fest in conjunction with Middletown Recreation’s Downtown Trick or Treat, this festive event invites children and families to come in costume, meet Connecticut authors and discover new books to enjoy together.

Supporting Meaningful Learning
This event supports the Ädelbrook Transitional Academy’s student-run vocational storefronts, the Bark-ery and Ädelbooks and More.
Through these downtown businesses, young adults with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities gain real-world experience in customer service, retail operations, communication, teamwork and workplace readiness.
2026 Nonprofit Candidate Forum

Ädelbrook Behavioral and Developmental Services is proud to co-host the 2026 Central Connecticut Nonprofit Candidate Forum alongside several nonprofit partners serving our region. This in-person event brings together nonprofit leasers, community members, and candidates running for office for a discussion about the needs of the community.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with fellow nonprofit organizations, meet local candidates, and learn more about how public policy and funding decisions impact families and services across our communities. The forum will also highlight the important role nonprofits play in strengthening the safety net for residents throughout Middlesex County and beyond.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at CT State Community College Middlesex (Chapman Hall) in Middletown, with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the program running from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.

30th Annual Golf For Kids Tournament
September 10th, 2026
On Thursday, September 10, 133 golfers and 40 local business sponsors joined us for the 30th Annual Golf for Kids Tournament to raise money, support, awareness and acceptance for individuals with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. Together we raised over $72,000 to directly benefit the individuals we serve.
Thank you to JMR Staffing, our title sponsor, as well as our presenting sponsors, Cigna, Liberty Bank, Brown & Brown, and Covenant Living of Cromwell. Thank you to all of the golfers who joined us for a fun day of golf! Your support delivers happiness and hope to the students, residents, and families that rely on Ädelbrook. Thank you for your generosity.
5th Annual Ädelbrook Alliance Walk
April 25, 2026
On Saturday, April 25, over 300 community members joined us for the 5th Annual Ädelbrook Alliance Walk to raise money, support, awareness, and acceptance for individuals with autism, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Together we raised almost $40,000 to directly benefit the incredible individuals we serve.
Thank you to all who participated by creating a team, walking individually, donating, or attending to enjoy a day of inclusive fun for all ages and abilities! It is because of community members like you that our students and residents have the resources and support they need to follow their dreams!
