Ädelbrook Leadership at the 30th Annual Golf for Kids Tournament

CROMWELL, Conn. — Ädelbrook Behavioral and Developmental Services hosted its 30th Annual Golf for Kids Tournament on Sept. 10 at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, Connecticut. Thanks to the generosity of community partners, sponsors, donors, advocates and volunteers, the event raised more than $72,000 in support of the children, adults, and families Ädelbrook serves.
The tournament also honored two Community Champions this year: Connecticut House Majority Leader Jason Rojas and State Senator MD Rahman, recognized for championing Ädelbrook's Manchester Academy expansion project through the state's Community Investment Fund (CIF) program, which is helping expand access to special education and support services for children with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sen. Rahman attended the tournament to accept the award in person.

The tournament welcomed 170 golfers, dinner guests and volunteers for a day that included a round of golf, a putting contest, a silent auction, raffle prizes and more, all in support of individuals with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities at Ädelbrook.
Alyssa Taglia, of WTNH's Good Morning Connecticut, served as emcee for the program, which opened with remarks from Goduti. Board Director Enzo Faienza also spoke, sharing his continued commitment to Ädelbrook's mission.
Attendees also heard from Christina Ferrante, an Ädelbrook parent, who spoke about the progress her son, Jaiden, has made over his seven years at Ädelbrook.
“My son now comes home and tells me about his day. We talk about his friends, his staff or maybe a joke he heard. He tells me the joke and just laughs very hard. I never thought this would happen. These might sound like small things but when you're the parent of an autistic child these are monumental moments. Ädelbrook didn't just accept Jaiden, they saw him.” Her speech received a standing ovation from everyone in attendance.
JMR Staffing served as title sponsor, with Liberty Bank, Cigna, Covenant Living and Brown & Brown serving as presenting sponsors. In all, 40 sponsors supported this year's tournament, including businesses across Manchester, Middletown and Bloomfield, the Connecticut towns where Ädelbrook operates.
Ädelbrook is grateful to all the mission ambassadors, volunteers and sponsors who helped make this year's tournament another success, and is already looking ahead to next year's 31st Annual Golf for Kids Tournament.
